About the place:


Badia a Ruoti is a quiet medieval village with over 1000 years of history, immersed in the nature of Valdambra, the Valley of the river Ambra (Bucine di Arezzo) a beautiful green countryside area in between the city of Florence, Siena and Arezzo.
You can make beautiful and relaxing excursions (free or following the itineraries of CAI, the Italian Alpine Club association) and visit other charming medieval villages (like Sogna, the village of dream ) or go to the near swimming-pool of Capannole where you can stay all day long and have dinner in the pizzeria and a drink in the pub.
Take the car or a public bus and go to the thermal baths of Rapolano reknownd for skin benefits or go to the medieval city of Siena (full of history and traditions like “Il Palio”, a very famous ancient horses competition).
Take the train and go to visit the main city, Florence, or medieval Arezzo (the city of Piero della Francesca and… the movie “La vita è bella” di Roberto Benigni).
 
How to get to the Abbey
By flight
Fly to Pisa or Firenze or Bologna Airport, then Catch a train to Firenze S.M.N. station
Or fly to Roma Airport, then catch a train to Arezzo station.
From Firenze or Arezzo catch a train to Bucine (Arezzo).
 
By train
This station is in the railway Firenze – Roma
If you come from the North : 
Catch a train to Florence S.M.N. then to Bucine ( towards Arezzo or Roma or Foligno or Perugia)
 
If you come from the South :
Catch a train to Arezzo, then to Bucine (towards Firenze).

From Bucine train station we can give you a lift to the Abbey (5 min. distance)
During they stay you can reach the station by public buses
